I have recently worked on a new piece “Amalgam” for Oboe Quartet under the theme “Peace in our time”
The project is a cross-Nordic collaboration between Gothenburg Oboe Quartet and composer Erik Sköld (SE), Alvi Joensen (FOR) and myself.
Can peace be embodied through music? and what does peace sound like? The three composers try to investigate this in three new works written specifically for the Gothenburg Oboekvartett. With the theme “Peace”, the quartet and the composers want to make the audience think about the polarity of war and peace, and how we are affected by it.
The first performance will be held at Koncertkirken in Copenhagen November 5th 2023, whereafter the quartet will tour around the Nordic countries with planned concerts in Denmark, Sweden and the Faroe Islands.
For the premier, oboist Henrik Goldschmidt has been invited as a speaker to give a further perspective to the theme “peace” before the concert and will also present the three works along the way.
