On May 17th I had the great honour of having my first piece for symphony orchestra premiered by Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra. I would like to thank the orchestra and conductor Jakob Hultberg for their amazing performance. It was such a great experience. Also huge thanks to Rolf Martinsson and The Malmö Academy of Music for enabling this cooperation.
The piece is called HEAT and is inspired by heat waves. There has been a tendency recent years, of beating the heat record several places in the world. An alarming fact I believe, since heat is difficult to shield oneself from, and since heat often generates more heat. The piece is texture based and formed around small wave formations and sensations of small eruptions, all covered in a shimmering dim, as when looking at an overheated landscape.
